HOW MUCH TIME WOULD I HAVE TO COMMIT?
The benefits of volunteering include the satisfaction of helping others, making friends and having a good time doing it. While the more time you spend helping on chapter projects and events, the more you get from your membership, everybody is able to allot whatever time he or she may have available. There is no minimum hours or project requirement for membership. Chapter meetings are only held once per month and projects are scheduled throughout the calendar to provide members the most options for participation.
WHO CAN JOIN? DO I HAVE TO BE FILIPINO?
The membership of the Honolulu Filipino Jaycees is not exclusive to Filipinos. We welcome individuals from all ethnic backgrounds, who are within the membership age group and have a desire to be involved in the Filipino community. Our members represent an array of professions, including: education, business, finance, health care, government, tourism, customer service, retail sales, construction, engineering, legal, and medical. Many of our members are also young entrepreneurs.
IS THERE A COST TO BEING A MEMBER?
As a member of the HFJCC, you will also become a member of the Hawaii Jaycees, the U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce (USJC), and the Junior Chamber International (JCI). There is a nominal annual membership fee. This is a small investment for the long-term benefits, fun, friendships, and rewards you will receive as a Filipino Jaycee. Additionally, you are entitled to receive a quarterly business magazine subscription and other awesome benefits.
