A Statewide Jaycee Adopt-A-School Day Project that will take place on our 1st Annual Hawaii Jaycees Adopt-A-School day on Sunday, October 12, 2008. This project is a statewide initiative designed to increase the profile of the Hawaii Jaycees across the islands by mobilizing our chapters together, on the same day, in service to our local schools.

Volunteers are needed for an Adopt-a-Platoon Project called the Mahalo Operations Alliance IV. This community project is simply a way we can say thanks and show some support for our troops in Iraq. The idea is to secure a list of needs i.e., bacteria hand wipes, lotions, lip balm, bug repellent, beef jerky, dried fruit, car magazines, etc., for a unit in Iraq. Then goods are purchased and shipped to them.

The Honolulu Japanese Junior Chamber of Commerce is hosting an event to close out the summer, On the Nines. It will be on September 9, or 9/9. The night will feature free pupus for the first hour, live music and a DJ, raffles, and cocktails. Tickets are $20 in advance or $30 at the door.
